PAGURO EXPAT COUNTRY GUIDE :
GERMANY

Germany

A guide to Germany for expat by expat.

Welcome to Munich!

Nestled in close to the base of the Bavarian Alps, Munich is a safe and desirable place to live. Within easy reach of the city are lakes, mountains, fairytale castles and several historical German towns.

As well as being one of Germany's top tourist destinations, Munich is a popular city in which to live. Many large German companies: Siemens, BMW and Bayer, have their headquarters here. The public transport system is excellent, and there is an abundance of bike trails in and around the city to make commuting safe and easy.

Although Munich has a large population, it has managed to avoid that overwhelming 'big city' atmosphere. Munich has retained its traditional Bavarian culture, while also being visitor and expat friendly. A large part of Bavarian tradition is that Sunday is family day. Most shops are closed, and Muenchners take advantage of the outdoors playing sports or sitting in one of the city's numerous beer gardens in Summer, or enjoying snow sports in the nearby mountains in Winter.

Come and discover why so many expats choose to live in Munich!
