Munich - Religion

A sort criterion

Catholicism is the predominant religious faith in Munich. Since the building of St Lukas, the first Protestant church in Munich, the number of celebrated religions has broadened, including Islam  and pre-Christian religions such as Judaism.

Church and state are still closely tied. You have the option of declaring your religion on your tax form. Beware that doing so means that you will have a religious tax extracted from your income!
