Stockholm - Teenagers

To be a non-Swedish teenager for only a few years means that you will go to an international school where you meet people in the same situation as yourself. Making friends with the Swedish teenagers is therefore not so easy. The older you are, especially if you attend the international section of a local high school (gymnasium), the more likely you are to mix with the locals even if the language may be a barrier.

Public places very familiar to teenagers are cafes and fast food places. McDonalds and Burger Kings are present in large numbers. Clubbing and pubs are practically out of the question because of the age limits. Even if you do manage to get inside, it is worth being very careful because police do make check ups. Consequently, there is a tendency to get together in small groups in a friend's house or organize a party which is always fun!
