Stockholm - Public transport

The public transport system in Stockholm is very efficient. The fact that the same fare system is valid in buses, metro and local trains makes it easy and practical to use. The underground has four lines that connect all areas of Stockholm very adequately. The bus services operated by the State Railway connect with the railway network. The local trains run very often making it easy to commute in and out of Stockholm. Taxis are easily available and it is very common to order them by phone.

Adding all this information together one can understand why in Stockholm people do not feel the need to own a private car but are quite happy to use public transport or a taxi when they need it.
