Singapore - Health system
Medical facilities in Singapore are the best in SE Asia. There is a well-funded and efficient government health service, and excellent private hospitals too. Both government and private hospitals are modern and well-equipped and there are specialists in all medical fields. Most medical staff speak good English and many doctors have had some training overseas.
Hospitals
Government and private hospitals provide the full range of medical
services from cardiac surgery to maternity services. A comprehensive list of
Singapore’s hospitals can be found at: http://www.sg/health
Pharmacies
Most doctors will prescribe and dispense medications in their offices or
refer patients to pharmacies. Pharmacies with a wide range of both American
and European medications are in most shopping centres. Look for those
belonging to the Guardian or NTUC Healthcare chains.
