Singapore - Crime
There is very little noticeable crime in Singapore. It is safe to walk around the city centre streets until late at night. Many expatriates live in apartment complexes that have a security guard at the front gate. This seems almost superfluous in a country where crime seems almost absent.
Singapore has a very efficient police force. Certain public misdemeanors
such as rowdiness and drunkeness outside clubs and bars will not go
unnoticed. Being caught in possession of drugs will bring heavy penalties
and even the death sentence for the possession of large amounts of drugs.
Vandalism is almost non-existent as there is severe punishment for acts of
vandalism.
