Singapore has a safe, clean environment for children and has a good collection of museums and other activities for entertaining children. Places for outdoor activities may be a little limited compared to some other countries and the constant heat is a problem for some. The international schools and national associations run a variety of outdoor and indoor sporting activities.

The lifestyle in Singapore is very casual and children can be taken anywhere, except to the most formal occasions and to the most formal restaurants. There is a wide variety of outdoor eating places to choose from and lots of the usual fast food restaurants. There are many opportunities to enjoy Asian festivals in Little India and Chinatown.

Singapore has a very safe and efficient public transport system that older children can use by themselves. Children’s clothes, toys and books are readily available.
