Oslo - Life insurance

This type of insurance offers financial protection in case of death in the family, and there are three main types of life insurance:

1. Term life insurance (dødsrisikoforsikring), which pays out to the dependent of a person when he/she dies. The validity period may vary from a few months to several years.

2. Endowment with term insurance (sammensatt livsforsikring). In addition to providing the same coverage as term life insurance, this insurance would pay the insured if he survives the insurance period. This type of insurance is also used as a saving scheme for retirement. 3. Disability insurance (uføreforsikring), can be a separate insurance or in combination with the above. It provides coverage in case of injury and disability, and can be used as part of a disability pension.

Pension/retirement assurance (pensjonsforsikring)
This type of insurance varies according to payment plans. It may include a retirement plan (alderspensjon), disability benefit (uførepensjon), spouse pension (ektefellepensjon), as well as benefits for children and other dependents/beneficiaries. A pension assurance is recommended as a supplement to pension schemes offered by your employer and the pensions you are entitled to through the national insurance or social security system. Payments to private pension schemes will in most cases give you a tax deduction. Most life insurance companies offer a pension insurance.

Credit life insurance (gjeldsforsikring)
This is a mortgage insurance that covers the mortgage payments should the borrower die or lose his income or become disabled. Inquire with the insurance company for details and various deals or contact the following credit insurance companies:
