Mexico City - Homeowner Insurance

It is useful to protect your belongings, in case of fire, flood, earthquake, hail, burglary, etc. Insurance of property by homeowners is not required by law, and is not really commonplace among homeowners, but it does provide extra peace of mind. Some insurance companies offer homeowner insurance, but not all of them. The plans vary widely. Note that some plans include "domestic assistance" in case you need emergency repairs (plumbing, electric, broken glass windows, locksmith etc.). And if you rent, you may purchase an insurance policy that covers only the contents of the house you live in.
