Mexico City - Garbage
Depending on where you live, garbage is usually collected daily, except for Sundays. You leave the plastic bag right outside your gate, although it is better to buy a garbage bin at Home Depot, Walmart or Chedraui, because of the stray dogs.
Mexico does not have a system for separating glass, plastic and paper from other garbage.
If you have just moved in, you can ask the garbage collectors to take your empty boxes with them. They take them for recycling and earn a little side money.
