Furniture stores abound and you will find a wide range of styles to suit all budgets. Make sure that you call before visiting if you are unsure as to whether the shops are open or not.

Times do change and it is very frustrating to drive all the way out to Shuwaikh to find that your destination is closed. Second hand furniture is available from the shops on Street 44 in Al Rai, perpendicular to the Ghazali Expressway (Road 60) and between Landmark and the Friday Market.

The constant departure of expats also means that there are often house sales although this information is discovered through word of mouth.

Another option is to check supermarket notice boards.
