Kuwait City - Cinemas

Kuwait has a number of cinemas, most of which are run by the same company (Kuwait National Cinema Company). Although most cinemas are located in Salmiya there are a number in other areas.

The majority of cinemas show western films, with a number showing international films in various languages. All films brought into the country are obliged to pass through the Censorship department at the Ministry of Interior. This results in most films being censored to some degree. Cinema etiquette in Kuwait is not generally enforced. It is not unusual to have a film continually interrupted by the sound of mobile phones ringing and the ensuing conversations.

Tickets cost between KD1.5 – KD3. The central, automated 24hr hotline for all KNCC cinema information is 80 3456.

It is possible to book your cinema tickets online using an NBK ATM card or any of the major credit cards.
