Pekanbaru - Hotels

Although not on the list of tourist drop ins, Pekanbaru can be used as a base for exploring Sumatra due to its proximity both to the river (ferries) and airport. The town is visited by business-people and therefore does have a couple of reasonable hotels.

Arayaduta Hotel Pekanbaru
Spacious rooms, but dated door and somewhat threadbare, airconditioning is only adequate.
The room had a mini bar and safe as well as coffee making supplies in the closet.
The bathroom was also spacious with a large shower stall in the corner. Amenties were sparse; one tiny sliver of soap to share between sink and shower and a small bottle of shampoo, but plenty for our overnight stay.
The hotel is located on a busy street, but room are quiet.
