You will be able to find many different sports clubs by logging on to www.sport.musin.de .
For most water sports you need to travel a little way out of the centre of Munich. There are a few rowing clubs on nearby lakes and at the Olympic Regatta near Oberschleißheim. Normally 'Surfing' refers to wind-surfing, but regular surfers make use of a standing wave on the Eisbach in the Englischer Garten.
Munich's proximity to the Alps makes it an ideal point of access for hiking in Summer and for Winter sports including skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and tobogganing.
