Munich - Local Recipe Books

If you can read German, then the variety of local recipe books is much wider. The two following titles are available in both German and English.

Dr Oetker German Cooking Today, published by Ceres.
Dr Oetker is also a trademark for many pre-prepared frozen dishes and cake mixes, etc, so many of the recipes are of the ilk; "Buy a packet of Dr Oetker's blah-blah-blah, follow directions on packet. Serves 4."

Bavarian Cooking, Olli Leeb.
The Leeb book is highly regarded.

Another traditional Bavarian cookbook, only available in German is:
Bayerisches Kochbuch, Hofman & Lydtin.

New on the market, also in German is
Alfons Schuhbecks Bayerische Hausmannskost für Feinschmecker, published by Zabert Sandmann.
