Specialty Shops and delicatessen "Feinkost"
Most supermarkets in Munich are small with a very narrow selection of foods. To get something a little more unusual (for example Asian foods or a genuine Canadian maple syrup) you need to go to a specialty store. These stores are called "Feinkost" which literally translates to 'fine taste'.

There are many different types of Feinkost in Munich. Some specialise in food from a particular country, others in particular types of food, and others still specialise in top quality (read expensive) foods.
