Sophia Antipolis - Tourist destinations

Sophia-Antipolis is the Europe’s foremost science park with more than 60 nationalities. It isn’t a village but a big technopole. Sophia-Antipolis is located around several villages : Valbonne, Biot, Antibes, Mougins, Roquefort-Les-Pins etc. This park was constructed in the 70’s in the pinewood and it's original aspect has been kept.

English, Dutch, Italian, German and of course French are the main languages spoken here.

The health system is very good in France and all around Sophia-Antipolis you have a wide choice of medical facilities. In Mougins, you find a new big medical center with all types of specialists and  in the center of the technopole you will also find doctors, dentists…

In the center of Sophia-Antipolis, near “Place Bermond” is a natural park where you can practice some sports like tennis, jogging, gymnastic, roller blades…There is also a little park for very young children.

The challenges in Sophia-Antipolis are:
- Keep your calm for everything here on the French Riviera. For people who are coming from big towns like New York, Houston or Paris, it will be a challenge. Life here is very cool and calm and after several months you will take the rhythm.
- Keep your cool while driving in Nice or when trying to find a parking place during the summer. People like parking their cars anywhere and are driving dangerously.
- If you need to contact any craftmen for a repair in your house, you cannot be sure they will come, even though they gave you an appointment! You should negotiate the price and be prepared to pay a part in  cash. This is common practice here on the French Riviera. Also check the work afterwards to make sure it was done right.
