Sophia Antipolis - Small tour around your location

Sophia-Antipolis is Europe’s foremost science park with more than 60 nationalities. It isn’t a village but a big technopole. Sophia-Antipolis is located around several villages: Valbonne, Biot, Antibes, Mougins, Roquefort-Les-Pins etc. This park was constructed in the 70’s in the pinewoods and it's original aspect has been kept.

English, Dutch, Italian, German and of course French are the principle languages spoken here.

The health system is very good in France and all around Sophia-Antipolis you have a wide choice of medical facilities. In Mougins there is a new big medical center with all types of specialists, and in the proper technopole you find many doctors, dentists.........

Near “Place Bermond” is a natural park, in the center of Sophia-Antipolis, where you can practice some sports like tennis, jogging, gymnastic, roller blades… Adjacent is also a small park for very young children.

The challenges in Sophia-Antipolis:

• Keep your calm about everything here on the French Riviera. Life here is very cool and calm and after several months you will take the rhythm.
• While driving in Nice or when trying to find a parking place during the summer, keep your cool. People like parking their cars everywhere and are driving dangerously.
• If you need to contact any craftsmen for repair at your house, you cannot be sure they will come, even though they gave you an appointment! You should negotiate the price and be prepared to pay a part in cash. This is common practice here on the French Riviera. Also check the work afterwards to make sure it was done right.
