When you know that you have to leave the country, start making a list of all your utilities and mark a calendar with the dates you should cancel the services. Some services require more advance notification than others; make sure you look it up.
Things you should not forget when leaving the country:
- Buy adapters before you move so that electrical equipment is ready to plug in straight away when you arrive in your new country.
- Bring enough medicine with you for one month, as you are not sure to obtain the same brand abroad.
- If you wear glasses or contact lenses, bring your prescriptions with you.
