This is a Christian organization providing shelter, transitional living and rehabilitation programs for the homeless and people who find themselves in difficult circumstances. Houston Area Women’s Center (HAWC) is a non-profit organization which has extensive volunteer opportunities to provide shelter and support services to survivors of both domestic and sexual violence.
Always looking for volunteers, HAWC gives opportunities for you to be trained in facilitation, counselling and administration. The organization also seeks to inform children, youth and the community at large of this subject matter, with the aim of prevention and elimination of the ever increasing domestic and sexual violence.
An excellent information package is available from HAWC should you contact them with an interest to provision of volunteer work.
