Here are the different places to do your food shopping :
Foodstores  (Chedraui, Walmart, Superama): you will find everything here. There are food stuffs, as well as vegetables and fruits and all other groceries plus clothing, a pet section, toys, some hardware.

  This is the most diversified market you can find. Fruits and vegetables are abundant. You even find many European vegetables, such as brussel sprouts. Chillies necessary to make any kind of Mexican food are available here. In stand 101 you will find a very specialized butcher. He has it all, from deer to duck, from crocodile to snake meat, from live snails to  escamoles (ant eggs), from chapulines (little dried grasshoppers-very tasty by the way) to suckling pigs. It is an experience just walking aournd this market and the butcher is certainly a stall not to be missed!

Butchers
You will find meat sections in every large supermarket. The meat in Costco, Mexicana and Comermex (Comercial Mexicana) is excellent. They also have a section for special steak cuts.

Opening hours
Supermarkets  are open from 11 am to 11 pm, even on Saturdays and Sundays.

Forms of payment
All shops and markets accept all means of payment. To make your payment with a credit card, even for small amounts is very common here.
