If you enjoy your food Kuwait will cater to your every taste. There are a huge number of restaurants located throughout the country to suit every palate and budget. Eating out is a favourite pastime and restaurants become very crowded during the weekends and on public holidays. Make sure that you book in advance so that you are not disappointed. The following is a small selection of restaurants that will give you some idea of what is available.

    Shortly due to complete their 20th year in Kuwait this group of restaurants/take-away outlets is well-known by the expatriate and local community for its delicious freshly prepared Indian and Pakistani dishes. If you enjoy a tasty, freshly prepared curry whilst watching a football game or are catering for a pack of ravenous rugby players there is no other choice!   • Kuwait Towers Restaurant

    Located in one of the water towers approximately 82 metres above the ground the Kuwait Towers Restaurant affords fantastic views of the Arabian Gulf and Kuwait City. This is a great place to take visitors, particularly at the end of the day when you can watch the sun go down with a cocktail in hand.

    Tucked away in Salmiya Maki is a cosy, sophisticated and secret favourite for many of Kuwait’s residents. Focusing on original recipes with just a touch of innovation there is a dish to suit all palates. Whether you are a sushi virgin or connoisseur you cannot go wrong. Open 12pm – 3pm and 7pm – 11:30pm
  • Sakura

    Kuwait’s oldest Japanese restaurant with an excellent reputation. Three tatami rooms, a sushi bar and a large teppanyaki table. Booking is recommended. Sakura Express offers a very competitively priced take away/delivery service.


  • Beit 7

    Set in an old house with an attractive courtyard resplendent with resident tree, Beit 7 remains an old favourite. Two private rooms, seating 12 and 6. Booking is recommended.

    This restaurant is well-known for its wide range of excellent seafood dishes. Don’t be put off by the fact that it is not always full. There is a private room which seats 14.
  • La Brasserie

    A huge range of seafood is on offer prepared using your choice of cooking style and your choice of spices and sauces. Friday brunch is serviced between 12pm – 3:30pm and includes a wide range of entertainment for children.

    Steak lovers need look no further than the Gaucho Grill for the best red meat in the Gulf.
  • Terrace Grill

    Ideally situated for business lunches and dinners the Terrace Grill has an excellent reputation. Open for lunch (12:30pm – 3pm) and dinner (7pm – 11pm)


  • Blue Elephant

    Using ingredients flown in from Thailand the Blue Elephant has a menu that delights the senses. The buffet lunch every Thursday is a family affair. There is a comprehensive take-away menu. Thai cookery lessons are held every other Monday between 10am - 12:30pm.
