For years a giant farmers' market with a vast selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, beans, and other farmers products llike milk and eggs . There's no place else in the city where you can buy a farm-fresh fruits (in bulk, if you prefer) at 6 a.m. any day of the week, year-round. 
Open every day 6 a.m.-8:30 p.m.

Pick-Your-Own Farms
Within an easy drive from downtown Houston there are few pick-your-own farms. For hours of operation is recommended to call in advance.

Blackberries of Houston - also pre-picked produce; crops ready for you in May, June, and July.

Look for the restaurant T'afia, the market is in the the parking. Monica Pope is the houston chef identified as the founder. The market has a mix and match of food and handcrafted goods and ready to go meals.

Downtown Green Market is a new project of the Central City Co-Op, bringing Central City’s produce shares and other products to the downtown Houston community. Market fresh organic fruits, veggies and more.

3 - 7 p.m. Thursdays during winter hours (October - February) 
Sunday from 12 to 4 downtown

Central City Co-Op

Organic produce at reasonable prices, you need to pay a membership fee for the co-op, but visitors can purchase a Dollar Day Pass any time they want to purchase organic food at Central City Co-op.

Health Habits co-op
 Fresher and cheaper organic vegetables directly from the producers. You can order online the produce in season and you can pick it up at their location.
