General information     

Arlanda airport is the main international airport in Sweden and the largest airport in Scandinavia. It is located 42 km north of Stockholm.  It has four terminals, two runways. Flights cover 167 destinations of which 127 are international. Arlanda's top ten destinations are London, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Oslo, Helsinki, Amsterdam, Paris and. Luleå, Malmö Umeå in Sweden.

Transport  

Bus
There are frequent buses to Arlanda from the bus Cityterminal (adjoining Central Station). You must buy your ticket inside the bus terminal. The cost of the ticket is Sek80. Traveling time to Arlanda is about 40 minutes.

The fixed price taxi fare from airport to city center with luggage, including tip, is Sek 395.

Train
The Arlanda Express is a train service connecting Stockholm city to Arlanda airport in 20 minutes. Take the train from central station for a fare of Sek 180 single. Departure is every 20 minutes.

Bromma Airport  

With its close proximity to central Stockholm, Bromma offers fast air travel, both scheduled and private. The distance from the city to the airport and the waiting times at the airport is short. Given the airport's
attractive location, environmental standards are extra tough. At Bromma, only aircraft that meet stringent environmental requirements with regard to emissions and noise are allowed to land. Due to its location the airport is only open:
Monday - Friday: 07.00 - 22.00, Saturday: 09.00 - 17.00, Sunday: 10.00 - 20
To go to Bromma airport you can take a bus from the Cityterminal and the ticket costs Sek 60.
You can take the local bus number 110 to Alvik  and  the bus 152 from Älvsjö toBromma.
The cost for a taxi from the city center is Sek 170.

Skavsta Airport  

It is a private owned airport at 100 km south of Stockholm. It is a Cargo airport but it is used also by a few airlines like Ryan airways.The best way to go to Skavsta airport is by coach. There is a special Express Coach service from the central station that costs Sek 140.

Arriving  

When you arrive at Arlanda just follow the signs to the baggage claim area. Trolleys are available and, like everywhere today, go to the conveyor displaying your flight number. To exot the airport, follow the green light at customs if you have nothing to declare (Inget att deklarera) or the red light if you have something to declare (Gods att deklarera).Once you are out of Customs you can decide to catch a taxi, a bus or the Arlanda Express train. All of them are at hand and the tickets can be bought directly at the terminal.

Departure  

They all have very fast and efficient check-in systems. After you have checked in you go through the passport control and the hand luggage security screening.

All the airports are free from traffic congestion. A newly built multistory car park at Arlanda airport has eliminated all parking problems.

Hotels in and around the airport 

Arlanda has a very good meeting center called SkyCity.  SkyCity offers conference facilities, shopping and overnight accommodation at a first-class hotel only 100 meters from the gate.

Skavsta and Bromma are small airports and there are no meeting/conference facilities.
