Stockholm - Emergencies

Emergency  112  (Police, fire brigade, ambulance)
Poison Control center (Giftinformationscentralen) +46 (0)8 33 12 31
24 hours health hotline (Vårdguiden)  + 46 (0)8 320 100

Doctors do not come to your house so if there is an emergency you call 112 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room (Akutmottagningen). Remember to take a book with you since you may have to wait a while if you are not bleeding profusely or if you have no protruding bones.

If you inconveniently become ill after your doctor’s telephone times, you can go to the emergency room in your nearest hospital or to “after hours clinics” or to a “walk in clinic” like the one below, where an appointment is not needed. Surgical, medical, ear, nose and throat doctors are available as well as X-ray and laboratory.

City-Akuten,
Holländargatan 3,
Tel:  + 46 (0)8 11 71 77
Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 20.00
Saturdays from 9.00 to 16.00

You have to pay a fee to see the doctor or visit a “walk-in” clinic or an emergency room.
