Stockholm - Dental care

There is a public dental insurance which subsidizes dental care exceeding a minimum target cost in any one year. Children receive free dental care up until the age of 19.
There are private dentists and dentist who work for the county councils.

Adults receive an economic subsidy from the national dental insurance system for basic dental care. The pricing of dental care has been deregulated which means that providers set their own fees for each form of treatment. There is also an option to sign 2year agreements on the provision at a fixed price. For certain more extensive dental procedures, there is a special high-cost protection system, aimed at limiting patients' outlays.
