Stockholm - Clubs and bars

Stockholm has a variety of nightspots, with crowded discos, trendy bars, casinos and cafés. Many of the city's busiest nightclubs are near Stureplan in Ostermalm, and the best bars are typically found in hotels and restaurants.

Different crowds tend to go to different areas. The Söder and Slussen districts cater to young people (teens and twenty-somethings). Most of the excitement there is found on Medborgarplatsen and the surrounding streets. Gamla Stan has more variety, although it's best known for jazz. The city center offers more upscale establishments as well as a number of casinos. Kungstradgarden is fairly trendy, but Ostermalm is the place to be for elegant but more expensive entertainment.

Pubs

Due to the strict legislation regarding alcohol most Pubs or Clubs allow people in above the age of 20. There are some pubs which will allow young people from 18 and above. It all depends on the type of drinks they serve so young people need to carry their identity cards to prove their age.

Pubs are very popular here. They open between 4 and 6pm and close at 1am. Clubs open much later but by 3am they are closed. Some Clubs allow in only people above 25 years of age
