    A team of people who support children with autism, downs syndrome etc in mainstream schools. The needs of the child are carefully matched with a school and a trained assistant, who is called a “shadow assistant” in some countries or “integration aid” in others. This person comes with a level of knowledge or life experience suitable to working with the child.
