Although Singapore calls itself the ‘Garden City’, most people live in apartments and gardening as a hobby is mainly confined to the indoors and balconies. Singapore is famous for its huge variety of orchids and there are many other tropical plants to choose from for decorating your home.

Artificial plants and flowers are readily available at department stores. At Christmas, a large variety of artificial trees and decorations can be found in supermarkets and department stores. Live (imported) Christmas trees are also sold.

Many of the largest nurseries can be found a near each other on Thomson Road.
