  • The Esplanade Theatre

    This spectacular cultural complex opened in October 2002. Situated on Marina Bay it is conveniently connected to nearby hotels, shopping centres and public transport by underground walkways.
    Two large theatres, two smaller theatres and areas for outdoor performance are combined with a bayside promenade and lots of restaurants, cafes and shops to make a really lively cultural space.
    There is also a small theatre and art exhibition space which also offers classes in photography, ethnic dance, batik painting, etc

    This heritage building with window shutters painted in bright red, green and yellow, overlooks the Singapore River near Clarke Quay. It has lots of small galleries and a café.

    This is the volunteer support group for the National Heritage Board.
    It holds talks, study groups, book groups and tours that investigate the culture and history of SE Asia. It also trains volunteer guides for Singapore’s museums. The majority of members are expatriates.

  • Alliance Francaise

    This centre has a café, library and cinema/theatre.
    It holds regular art exhibitions and concerts and screen French movies. It conducts French language classes and produces a monthly newsletter. Membership is open to anyone interested in the French language and culture.
