Singapore - Cinema

Going to the movies is a popular leisure activity in Singapore. As well as the usual Hollywood hits shown in English, the major cinema chains also show movies from Europe, China, India, Japan and Korea in their original language with English subtitles. Cinema complexes can become very crowded on Friday and Saturday evenings but you can purchase tickets in advance at the cinemas, by telephone or on-line. All seating is reserved so you can select your seat. All the cinema complexes are comfortable, air-conditioned and sell snacks and drinks. Cinemas advertise in the daily movies section of “The Straits Times” newspaper.
