Private health insurance (helseforsikring)
According to various international agreements, it may be possible for you to maintain and benefit from the health insurance you already have in another country. Check with your health insurance company. As health care in Norway is provided publicly through the national insurance scheme/social security (trygdekontoret), a private health insurance plan is not necessary in order to pay for health care.
