Kuwait - What is not allowed

Alcohol of any sort including beer, wines and spirits, kits for the manufacture of alcohol and all pork products are strictly prohibited. All such items will be confiscated and the likelihood is high that the consignee will be detained pending legal action.

Wireless transmitters and communications equipment, including walkie-talkie radios.

Firearms, ammunition, weapons and explosives, including weapons of a decorative nature.

Narcotics of any kind. Kuwait has very strict laws with regard to drugs and they are enforced. Anyone found importing narcotics will be liable to prosecution and anyone caught and convicted of trafficking in drugs will be subject to the death penalty. Medicines may be detained for testing by the Ministry of Health.

Due to strict laws laid down by the Ministry of Information all items manufactured by companies that appear on the Israeli Boycott list (such as CBS, Columbia and RCA) will be confiscated. To prevent the loss of any such material do not attempt to ship it with your personal effects.

Political and religious items which may be deemed offensive to the Kuwait Government and Islam. All such items will be confiscated and the likelihood is high that the consignee will be detained pending legal action.

Items made from ivory or any endangered species.
