    Bayt Lothan is a non-profit arts and crafts cultural centre that was
   founded to promote local and international handicrafts. The centre arranges
   various training programmes including courses in jewellery making, pottery,
   drawing, painting, mixed media, photography, Arabic calligraphy and music.
   There is a tea room selling delicious homemade cakes, and a
   shop.

    AWARE offers a variety of activities
   for Westerners in Kuwait including tours, cultural films, bazaars,
   diwaniyas and other social events. Arabic courses are available and there
   is a cultural library.

    The “House of Weaving” is located on the
   Gulf Road opposite Seif Palace, currently undergoing long-overdue
   improvements (due to be completed during the course of 2005) The building
   houses of a working museum. During opening hours Bedouin women can be seen
   weaving various items including carpets, cushions and camel bags. Lectures,
   seminars and demonstrations are held in conjunction with members of the
