Hong Kong - Vaccinations for Pets

Firstly, dogs and cats under 8 weeks of age can not be imported. There are special vaccination notes for puppies under 12 weeks of age as well.

Rabies does exist in Hong Kong, so be sure your pet has the appropriate shots. You will need an anti-rabies vaccination certificate. Dogs must have vaccinations for Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis, and Canine Parvovirus.

Cats must be vaccinated for Feline Panleucopaenia (Infectious Enterilis) and Feline Respiratory Disease Complex (Cat Flu). An anti-rabies vaccination certificate is needed.

The animal should have a certificate that shows it has been vaccinated against these diseases not less than 10 days and not more than 1 year before coming to Hong Kong.

An anti-rabies vaccination certificate should show the animal has been vaccinated against rabies less than one year and more than 30 days prior to departure.  For the first vaccination it should show the animal was at least 3 months old when vaccinated. Also, it is helpful to show a good history of anti-rabies vaccinations.
