Hong Kong has lots of bookstores that carry books and newspapers in English. You can buy newspapers off the street vendors all over the city. Or you can call for a subscription.

Children books
Books in Hong Kong are expensive, so a trip to the local library may be the best choice for finding books.
Toy stores, such as Toys R Us, and general bookstores sell childrens books.
You might want to consider buying lots of books to put them in your shipment prior moving.

Magazines

Magazines are extremely expensive in Hong Kong and so it is better to have a subscription and have the magazine delivered to your door. Magazines can be found in bookstores.
