There are lots of tailors in Hong Kong who are prepared to make exactly what you want.  It helps if you go in with a photo or a drawing and know what type of fabric you would like to use.

  I had pants hemmed here and they did a fantastic job making an invisible hem. Teneel speaks excellent English and was able to help me when I asked her about the proper length that pants should be. She had the pants pinned two ways to see what I was happiest with. I haven’t tried her for making clothes, but she does that as well.  (Author's note)

  If you know what you are doing then this is a convenient place to go. There is a lady who speaks English who will be able to help you, but you need to be willing to make sure the fit is exactly what you want. The first time I had a dress made here the sleeves weren’t right, but I didn’t speak up and tell them to fix it so I ended up with a dress I didn’t wear.  However, my friend (who sews) had a lot of things made here and was happy with the workmanship. She knew how to check the details and make sure the fit was good before she left the shop.
