Munich - Arts and Crafts

Arts
Most department stores with a stationery section will also have a selection of paper, paints and other art supplies for doing art work. The basement of Galeria Kaufhof in Marienplatz is a good place to start. Just up from Kaufhof at Rosenstr 8 you will find a stationers called Kaut-Bullinger & Co. They have several floors of office and art supplies, but are by no means cheap.

Other suppliers include:

Büchele & Götzenberger

Ludwig Rosner

Crafts
With the beautiful embroidery you see on traditional Lederhosen, it is clear that crafts are a traditional part of Bavarian life. The Volkshochschule offers many courses in different types of craft.

The supplies you want depend on the particular crafts you will be doing. For fabrics and other sewing-related crafts, go to the first floor of Hertie at the Bahnhof end of the store. For wool-related crafts, go to Hertie again, or Karstadt in Olympiazentrum.

For quilting and other crafty-type materials, go to:
Quilt u. Textilkunst Köhne Christine
Sebastianplatz 4
Munich
