Money transfer in and out
You
can make wire transfers from any bank in France. Since July 2003, the
fees are reduced for a transfer from France to any other european
country within the E.U. For an international transfer you need to provide the IBAN
(International Bank Account Number) and BIC address SWIFT of the bank
you will send the money to, togehter with Bank name and address.
A transfer from France to a non-EU country will cost
quite a bit more, to make matter worse, each bank has different prices, so shop around for the best options.
Credit cards
Different credit cards can be obtained according to your revenue and the use. American Express Cards are not widely accepted in all shops, restaurants, Visa or Mastercard are more widespread and more easily accepted. There is a big business on the French Riviera with credit cards fraud. So be careful when you pay with a card or when you withdraw money.
Together with your credit card comes a travel insurance and you should also be insured in the case of fraudulent withdrawals.

Debit card
You can use your debit cards from your bank (not all agencies), at the post-office, in the shopping centres. The weekly or monthly amount you can get through the ATM, depends on the type of credit card you have.
