The TGV can take you to North, East, West or South of France in a few hours.

Paris - Bordeau (station: gare Montparnasse) 3 hours
Paris - Toulouse (station: gare Montparnasse) 5 hours
Paris - Calais (station gare du Nord) 1 hour and 30 minutes

TGV Eurostar (station: gare du nord)
TGV Thalis or Eurostar will take you to London, Bruxelles, Amsterdam or Dusseldorf in a few hours.
