France - Shipment Insurance
You should contact at least two insurance companies and compare prices. Moving companies may also offer interesting shipment insurance contracts.
There are different types of contracts proposed:
- Limited liability: it's the minimum coverage required by law.
- All risk protection: it covers from door to door. The insurance companies require your goods to be professionally packed.
- Total loss proctection: the goods are only covered for a catastrophic loss due to a named peril such as sinking, burning, stranding or non-delivery of your shipment.
Always read the whole contract, even the small print.
