France - Health System and Vocabulary
The French health system is one of the most efficient in the world. If you are legally working in France, you pay social security fees and are automatically covered by the French system. It also covers students, the unemployed and retired people.
The social system covers:
- illness, pregnancy, hospital stays, accidents at work, invalidity (Sécurité Sociale)
- family allowances: (Caisse d'Allocations Familiales or CAF)
- unemployment benefit (Assedic)
