Denmark - Dental Care

Unlike other specialist doctors, you are free to choose any dentist (tandlæge in Danish) you want without consulting your general practitioner.
The Danish state only covers a (small) amount of your dental bill, which will have already been deducted from the bill you will receive.
If you are covered by a private health insurance dental care is further reimbursed.

Free dental care for under 18

The only citizens entitled to free dental care are resident children below the age of 18.
At 2 yrs old of age they are enrolled in the "municipal children and youth dental system" and they will get periodical check-ups and treatment in the appropriate clinics throughout their youth age.
