Houston - Cinemas

Going to the movies is a popular past time in Houston.

The majority of cinemas show Hollywood movies and blockbusters. The cinemas are sometimes referred to as ‘mega plexes’ and can have 10 screens or more, so as you can imagine, ‘movie going’ is a big thing here.

On Houston’s Citysearch website,  you can search for a movie theater near you by typing in your zip code, or search by movie and a list of theaters showing that movie appears. This site provides information on the movie theater, nearby restaurants and even maps.

On weekday afternoons, some cinemas have reduced ticket rates, as low as $2.00 per child.
Film Festival winning movies and other European films do indeed reach the Houston screens.
