The importance of volunteering in the life of expatriates is not to be underestimated.
  • When arriving in a new country, you could find yourself without a social network and maybe even without a sense of purpose in the beginning. That's when volunteering can bring you back into the swing of things! Paguro has plenty of suggestions to where you can contribute with your talent!
  • The most easily accessible volunteer jobs for foreigners are with organizations in the expatriate community.  These all depend on volunteers to run their various groups and activities. Schools and church groups are the next places to look. There may be more obstacles to volunteering with a group that works in the local community. Language is not always an obstacle, but being aware of local cultures is paramount.
  • The diverse multicultured people of Paguro have so much to offer as volunteers because of their transient life-styles and often their ability to communicate in more than one language.
