Mexico - Vaccinations
At birth
BCG - Tuberculosis. Unfortunately, tuberculosis is frequent in Mexico City, and many people carry the dormant bacteria in their bodies. For this reason, the vaccine is routinely administered in Mexico. Even though it is not required that you or your family get vaccinated upon migrating to this country, some doctors recommend that people have a tuberculin test (or PPD) done periodically, to be on the safe side.
Polio - oral or injected (usually oral), Hepatitis B
One month - Hepatitis B
Two months - Polio, DPT (Diphteria-Pertussis-Tetanus) Make sure you are given the ACELULAR variety, which is better tolerated by the baby and is available at most private pediatric offices.
HIB (haemophilus influenzae)
Three months - Hepatitis B
Four months - Polio, DPT (Diphteria-Pertussis-Tetanus) , HIB (haemophilus influenzae)
Six months - Polio, DPT (Diphteria-Pertussis-Tetanus), HIB (haemophilus influenzae)
Seven months - Hepatitis B
Nine months - MMR (Measles-Mumps-Rubella)
One year - MMR (Measles-Mumps-Rubella)
15 months - HIB (haemophilus influenzae)

18 months - Polio, DPT (Diphteria-Pertussis-Tetanus)
4-6 years - Polio, DPT (Diphteria-Pertussis-Tetanus), MMR (Measles-Mumps-Rubella)
11-12 years - DT (Diphteria-Tetanus)
14-16 years - DT (Diphteria-Tetanus)
Hepatitis A - It is applied after age two in doses of 740 U. If a vaccine is applied that combines hepatitis A and B, three doses are given. The second dose is administered one month after the first one, and the third is given 6 months later. It can also be applied to adults or at any age, as needed.
Varicella - One dose is given after 1 year of age. After age 12, two doses are applied with a 4-6 weeks gap between the two.
Influenza 1999-2000 formula - Starting at 6 months of age, 2 dosis are given with a one-month gap between them. After age nine, one dose is administered.
Pneumonia - Can be administered after age 2, as needed.
