Childcare – kinderopvang

Daycare ( kinderdagverbliff ) – is available for children between ages 0 to 4 years.  Other arrangements for children up to 12 years of age can also be made for everyday school hours and holidays. Many employers have certain arrangements with kinderdayverblijven for a certain number of places for their employees.  Cost of daycare centers may vary according to municipality.

Au Pair

There are several Au Pair agencies in The Netherlands.  One can use International newspapers, Internet or the phone book (De Telefoongids).  Otherwise the best alternative is to have an au pair recommended by a local.  An au pair is someone who will live with you, so it is always wise to take particular care in choosing the right person to whom you will be entrusting your children.
